In this Directors on Directors conversation for Variety, Bradley Cooper and Spike Lee discuss their careers as directors and the choices they have made when choosing a project to direct.

After a successful career as an actor, Bradley Cooper turned to directing with his debut feature A Star is Born. This was followed by Maestro. Both of which rely heavily on music and in this interview Cooper shares why music in film is so important to him as a director.

Spike Lee has been directing much longer and is one of the most respected filmmakers in the world. His movies Do the Right Thing, Malcolm X, Inside Man, and She’s Gotta Have It, are just some of his most celebrated works. But Lee has also directed well-known commercials.
