Director Barry Jenkins came to the fore with his film Moonlight that saw him win Best Picture at one of the most controversial Oscars in history.

A few years after that win, Jenkins took to the stage at SXSW to share his own personal beliefs about filmmaking and the techniques that work for him.

His feature debut Medicine for Melancholy had its world premiere at SXSW eight years prior to the success he found with Moonlight. So, in this talk, Jenkins returns to the festival that was so important in launching his feature career.
